Lesotho, the Congo and South Africa: why our partner facilities belong on a European purchase order

European buyers do not need another indoor warehouse in the Low Countries to get pharmaceutical-grade flower. They need a farm and a factory that already meet the paper Europe asks for — GACP in the field, EU-GMP on the processing line, a COA that a Qualified Person will sign — at a cost and a quality indoor Europe struggles to match. That is why Rehemption partners with facilities in Lesotho, the Congo, and South Africa. The plant is African. The standard is European.

This is not folklore about “African weed.” It is altitude, year-round light, clean air, and sites built to export. Lesotho sits in the Maluti Mountains at around 2,000 metres. The first African producer of EU-GMP certified medicinal cannabis flowers and extracts, MG Health, grows and processes there and already ships into Germany, the UK, Australia, Poland and the Czech Republic. A 2026 combination with Germany’s Canify is built on that supply: Lesotho flower into a European pharmacy network. Low energy, natural light, and pharmaceutical process — at a fraction of the cost of European indoor.

South Africa: GMP flower Europe already buys

South Africa is no longer a prospect. Licensed cultivators under SAHPRA have put GACP/GMP flower onto German and UK purchase orders. MJBizDaily reported South African quarterly cannabis exports to Germany up 24% in the last year, to 1,379 kilograms in Q4 2025, with buyers looking for pest-free, often non-irradiated flower that still meets EU-GMP. EU inspectors already know SAHPRA certificates. Indoor GMP in Johannesburg and export-ready sites elsewhere in the country are built for that corridor, not for a domestic grey market.

That is the product we stand behind with our South African partners: documented batches, export permits, and a spec a European importer can receive. Cost sits below Canadian indoor. Quality is judged on the COA, not on the continent of origin.

The Congo and the rest of the corridor

The Congo adds licensed cultivation, land, and climate for scale — biomass and flower from partner sites that we qualify the same way we qualify Lesotho and South Africa: licence, lab, and a buyer who can legally take the goods into the EU. We do not put a Congo lot on a truck because the story is romantic. We put it on a truck when the file matches the destination country’s import rules.
